Is this all human hair?

Yes. It's 100-percent natural human hair-also known as virgin hair.

Will virgin hair tangle and shed like beauty supply hair?

No. With virgin hair, all of the cuticles are intact and point in the same direction, preventing tangling and matting. Manufacturers of beauty supply hair use harsh chemicals to remove the cuticles, stripping the hair of its nutrients. Virgin hair doesn't contain silicone coatings, which prevents matting and excessive shedding. At My Hair Couture we also seal the cuticles with tight wefts to further prevent shedding. There is no comparison between our grade of hair and beauty supply hair.

What color is the hair?

Since each bundle of hair comes from different donors, the color varies from black to light brown. At MHC, we match hair colors as best as we can and categorize them accordingly:

• Indian: Dark brown to light brown
• Brazilian: Dark brown, medium brown to auburn hues
• Filipino: Mostly dark colors from dark brown to medium brown
• Russian: Darkest brown, medium brown, brown

Please keep in mind that each color renders differently with whichever hair you choose. Such is the beauty of couture hair, each bundle is unique! You can also color the hair to your liking. Check with your stylist for options.

Where does virgin hair come from?

Depending on its country of origin, virgin hair comes from different sources. Indian hair, for instance, comes from the temples of India, where women shave their heads for religious sacrifice, guidance or other sacred reasons.

Why is virgin hair more expensive than beauty supply hair?

For a couple of reasons: After it's cut, the virgin hair is washed with natural herbs, as opposed to harsh chemicals. Also, in some countries, such as Brazil, the owners of the hair sell their hair rather than donate it.

What's the difference between virgin hair and Remy hair?

The main difference is with Remy hair, we use an innovative steam process to create a uniform curl pattern. We do not do this with virgin hair. With virgin hair, we sanitize, weft, wash, condition, package and send the hair to you ready-to-wear. Both virgin hair and Remy hair are 100-percent human hair, never processed with harsh chemicals. Unlike manufacturers of beauty supply hair, we don't coat our hair with silicone substances and we do not alter the cuticles. The cuticles in all of our hair are unidirectional-all facing the same direction just like it grows from the scalp.

Can I curl and flat iron my new hair?

Absolutely! Virgin hair is versatile. You can treat it as if it were your own hair. Because the cuticles are intact, you can curl it, flat iron it, color it and more! Just remember, like your own hair, Virgin hair is delicate. Too much heat and processing can damage it.

How does one measure the length of virgin hair?

The length of virgin hair is determined when it's straight. So, straight hair that is 12 to 14 inches, may measure about 10 to 12 inches when curly.

How much hair do I need to buy?

• Full weave: 8oz
• Full weave with more body, volume and fullness: 10 -12oz
• Partial weave: 4oz
• Partial weave with more volume: 6oz
• Longer lengths: 12oz-14oz (20-26 inches)

Can I come to you to pick up my hair?

Unfortunately, no. We are an online business that processes all orders online. We do not offer pick up service.

How long will it take before I receive my hair?

We process and ship all orders within 2 days of payment via Priority Mail. Depending on your location, it can take 3-5 days for you to receive our priority mail shipment. If you require faster delivery, please send us an email requesting Express Mail service. Include your zip code so we can send you an estimated shipping price and exact delivery time.
